Obituary
Jacqueline Kay McFarlane Wedel, 47,
died Sunday (Oct. 14, 2018) at her home in Newton.
She was born on May 13, 1971, in
Newton, the daughter of Jim and Nancy Ann Hogan McFarlane. Jacque was
raised in Newton. While in school, she was involved in several
sports, graduating in 1989. She later attended Wichita State
University.
Jacque lived in California for a short
time, returning to Newton where she married Travis Wedel in 1995.
She had worked at Koch Industries in
Wichita and Newton Medical Center. Jacque spent several years in the
medical field; she also enjoyed working at Sand Creek Golf Course.
She loved to dance and being a line judge at volleyball tournaments.
Survivors include her twin daughters to
whom she loved being mom, Riley and Jade Wedel, both of Newton; her
mother, Nancy McFarlane of Newton; brothers, Randall James McFarlane
and his wife Tina of Newton, Robert Michael McFarlane and wife Nancy
of Altoona, Iowa, and Ronald Lee McFarlane and wife Kathy of Wichita;
sisters, Jamie Marie Wild of Lompoc, California, and Stacy Diane
Arellano and husband Jim of Newton; along with many nieces, nephews
and great-nieces and nephews.
Jacque is preceded in death by her
father; brother, Richard Scott McFarlane; two infant sisters; nephew,
Brian Scott Arellano; brother-in-law, Jonathan Wild; and
sister-in-law, Billie Kay McFarlane.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30
a.m. Thursday (Oct. 18, 2018) at Trinity Heights United Methodist
Church in Newton. Private family inurnment will be held later at the
Eastlawn Cemetery in Zimmerdale. The casket will be open between 1
and 8 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 17, 2018) at Broadway Colonial Funeral
Home.
A memorial fund has been established
for her daughters, Riley and Jade. Contributions may be sent to
