Obituary

BROOKSVILLE — Melvin L. Unruh, 86, died Jan. 30, 2015, at Moundridge Manor in Moundridge, Kansas. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brooksville Mennonite Church with the Rev. Devonn Miller and the Rev. Kendall Jost officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Oakwood Manor in Brooksville. Arrangements are entrusted to Cockrell Funeral Home. Mr. Unruh was born in Halstead, Kansas, to the late Noah T. and Carrie Jantzen Unruh. He was formerly employed as a painter and a distributor for herb products. He was a member of Brooksville Mennonite Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters; and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Norma J. Unruh of Brooksville; sons, Barry Unruh of Columbus, Daniel Unruh of Gentry, Arkansas, Gordon Unruh of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, James Unruh of Brooksville and David Unruh of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughter, Jeanette Unruh of Macon; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Perry Unruh, Todd Unruh, Les Unruh, Zach Unruh, Chris Unruh and Brad Unruh. Memorials may be made to Oakwood Manor, 355 Pine St., Brooksville, MS 39739.
