Obituary
Marilyn C. Smith died peacefully on
Sunday (Sept. 9, 2018) at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
She was 87 years old.
Marilyn was born Dec. 31, 1930, and
married Bill T. Smith on Aug. 14, 1949, in Newton. They were married
for 69 wonderful years. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband,
Bill T. Smith, who died Oct. 16, 2016.
Marilyn loved to travel when she was
not chasing her twin boys born Aug. 21, 1950. Bill worked as a
Conductor on the Santa Fe Railroad for 44 years, retiring Feb. 15,
1992. Marilyn was employed in customer service at Collins Rockwell
for 15 years, retiring Feb. 1, 1991.
Marilyn is survived by two sons, Ronald
D. Smith of Newton and Thomas B. Smith of Wichita; and two
granddaughters, Michelle Smith of Kansas City, Kansas, and Alexandra
Smith of Denver.
Family and friends visitation will be
from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 12, 2018) at Broadway Colonial
Funeral Home in Newton. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on
Thursday (Sept. 13, 2018) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established with
