Bill G. Nelson, 77, passed away Thursday (Nov. 22, 2007) in Melissa, Texas.
He was born
April 16, 1930, in St. John to biological parents Ruthford Beasley and Gladys
Lanham. He was the adopted son of Clifford and Lila McKim Nelson.
He was a
retired member of the Air Force military police and worked as a service
technician.
He married
Barbara A. Tubandt on July 26, 1974, in Golden, Colo. She survives.
He was a
Hesston resident for seven years, moving from Sabetha. He was a member of the
Garden Community Church in rural Moundridge and the Hesston Area Senior Center.
Survivors
include his wife, Barbara A. Nelson of Hesston; two sons, Chris Nelson and
wife, Julie, of Hesston and James Cowan and wife, Kathy, of Kersey, Colo.; a
brother, Jim Lanham and wife, Juanita, of Hutchinson; two sisters, Virginia
Clark of Melissa, Texas, and Betty Mitchell and husband, Fred, of Horseshoe
Bend, Ark.; and five grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moundridge Funeral Home with family
present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral
service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Garden Community Church in rural
Moundridge, with Pastor Greg Holmes officiating.
Burial will
be at the Garden Community Church Cemetery in rural Moundridge.

contributions can be made to the Bill Nelson Memorial Fund in care of the
funeral home.
