Alyce Corfman
Obituary
Alyce "Maxine" Corfman joined
her heavenly family and friends on Friday (Oct.19, 2018) at her home
in Newton. She was born Jan. 26 ,1919, in Kechi, the only daughter of
Stuart and Alyce Mae (McAuley) Foreman.
Maxine married Kenneth J. Corfman June
11, 1939, in Kechi and lived the ?next 49 years in the Whitewater
farming community. She moved to Newton in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Stuart and Mae Foreman; her ?brothers, Edgar, Albert, and
Clyde; husband, Kenneth; and many dear friends.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Sandra and Dr. Yusuf Qamar; two grandsons, Tariq (Liz) of
Scottsdale, Arizona. and Kenon (Kelly) of Leawood; four
great-grandchildren: Katarina, Cole, Braxton and Brielle; and several
nieces, nephews and many friends.
Maxine loved working along the side of
her husband on the farm, attending the many sports activities of her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing bridge and spending
time with her family and friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m.
Tuesday (Oct. 23, 2018) at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 1515 North
Anderson Ave., Newton. The family will receive friends prior to the
service from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will
follow the service at the Whitewater Cemetery. The casket will remain
closed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are
suggested to the Sandra Qamar Nursing Scholarship Fund at Newton
Medical Center, Newton.
