She was born Jan. 8, 1936, in El
Dorado, to James H. and Helen (Hunt) Alexander. On Jan. 16, 1955, she
married Dennis Schmidt in Newton and he preceded her in death on Aug.

graduated from Newton High School in 1953. Eunice still enjoyed
getting together with her fellow classmates.
Eunice was a charter member of the
Meridian Baptist Church. She served the church in the kitchen, as a
VBS worker, choir member and Barnabas Class Secretary. She was
friendly, outgoing and always had a smile and hug for everyone.
Eunice looked forward to spending time with her church ladies at
their Breadbasket lunch that they scheduled monthly.
Eunice worked as a school lunch room
worker, at Kansas Christian Home, at the phone company and as a
driver for railroad workers through O.T. cab. She was a loyal and
caring mother, grandmother and friend to many and will be greatly
missed.
She is survived by her sons: Jim
Schmidt (Tammie), Mark Schmidt and Gregory Schmidt; sister, Barbara
Chard (Bill); six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
