Obituary
Erma Raber, 86, of Pampa, Texas, passed
away Friday (Oct. 26, 2018) in Pampa.
Erma was born June 23, 1932, in Hydro,
Oklahoma, to Emmanuel and Lovina Miller. She attended Hesston College
in Hesston. Erma married D. A. Raber on Jan. 15, 1956, in Hydro. They
lived in central and western Kansas, retiring in Newton, and resided
in Pampa, Texas, the last four years with their son, Craig.
She was a pastor's wife, serving
faithfully in churches throughout Kansas. She showed hospitality to
others, hosting events in her home and loving all. Erma served as
church secretary and was a bookkeeper for various businesses and
organizations in Newton, but her true calling was being a homemaker
to D. A. and their two sons. She enjoyed painting, crocheting,
coloring and stained glass work.
Erma was preceded in death by her
parents; her brother; four sisters; and a great-granddaughter,
Jasmine.
She is survived by her husband, D. A.;
two sons, Craig Raber and wife Ronna of Pampa, Texas, and Bruce Raber
and wife Lorraine of Greensburg; seven grandchildren: Erin Raber of
Pampa, Kendra Jackson and husband Nathan of Uganda, Luke Raber and
wife Sarah of Pampa, Tami Raber of Greensburg, Todd Raber and wife
Shirley of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Zach Raber and wife Mallory of
Bremerton, Washington, and Zane Raber and wife Sarah of Newton; and
11 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life services will be 2
p.m. Monday (Oct. 29, 2018) at Faith Bible Church, with Pastor Worley
Kennedy officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the
direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
