Robert 'Bob' B. Wiebe
Robert "Bob" B.
Wiebe died Sunday (Oct. 7, 2007) at Newton Presbyterian Manor. He was born
April 23, 1921, in Buhler to Henry and Ruby (Ensz) Wiebe. On Jan. 25, 1946, he
married Rozella "Rosie" Schmidt in Newton. She survives at home. He
served his country during World War II and was in the invasion of Normandy. He
retired as a printer for the former Herald Publishing Co. in Newton. He was an
active member of the Newton Bible Church where he served in many capacities
including running the sound system and counting church offerings. He had a love
of photography and shared his photographs with his friends and family. He
greatly looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many
friends.
Survivors include daughters,
LeAnne K. Volle of Tucson, Ariz., and Judith G. Mace of Newton; a son, Charles
Wiebe of Garden City; a brother, Lewis Wiebe of Houston; a sister, Alvera
Schmidt of Newton; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; a brother, Austin Wiebe; and a sister Lorna Wiebe.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6:30
to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 2
p.m. Wednesday at the Newton Bible Church with Pastor Don Myer officiating.
Burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton.
