Eleanor M. Griswold
Eleanor M. Griswold, 82, died
Wednesday (Sept. 26, 2007) at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. She was born on
Sept. 2, 1925, in Kansas City, Kan., to Hazel (Tharp) and William Brown. They
preceded her in death. On June 2, 1950, she married Dale Griswold in Lawrence.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Chapter A.G., P.E.O., Jr.
Reading Circle, the Newton Medical Center Auxiliary and Axtell Hospital
Auxiliary, all of Newton. She enjoyed playing cards with her women's
bridge
group, singing in the choir
and was an avid Kansas University basketball fan. She also taught piano for one
year at Tabor College.
Survivors include her
husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Jill Griswold of Newton; a
sister, Louine Herman of Kansas City, Kan.; grandchildren, Toria, Easton and
Jentry Griswold of Newton; and a niece, Suzanne Hinsch.
Memorial service will be at 4
p.m. Oct. 14 at First Presbyterian Church in Newton with the Rev. James W.
Anderson officiating.
