Nathan Fast
HUTCHINSON - Nathan Whitney Fast,
31, died Saturday (Oct. 13, 2007) in rural Harvey County near Halstead. He was
born June 12, 1976, to Richard Fast and Donna Whitney in Newton. He attended
the Goessel school system and graduated from Goessel High School in 1994. He
received his associate's degree from Hutchinson Junior College in 2000. He was
a gifted musician, playing trombone and guitar. He played in several bands. He
worked as a cook for Carlos O'Kelley's restaurant in Hutchinson. He enjoyed
traveling and was an avid New York Jets football fan.
He will be remembered as a
"cool guy" who enjoyed life.
Survivors include his mother
and stepfather, Donna and David Withiam of Newton; sisters, Robin and Darrell
Grosch and Megan Withiam, all of Newton; niece, Brittany Grosch; grandparents,
Donald and Ellen Whitney, and Stanley and Edna Lee Withiam, all of Newton;
several aunts and uncles; and friends.
He was preceded in death by
his father and grandparents, Art and Pauline Fast.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with family present from 6:30
to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerroll Martin with
Meridian Baptist Church in Newton officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton.
