Delilia F. Pitts
HALSTEAD - Delilia F. Pitts,
84, of Halstead died Friday (Oct. 19, 2007) at Newton Medical Center. She had
been a resident of Halstead since 1995, having been a lifelong Bentley resident
before moving there. She was a homemaker. Pitts was born Nov. 2, 1922, in
Bentley to Elgin and Minnie Alice (Peavey) Furnish. Both are deceased. She
married Melvin C. Pitts Sr. on Jan. 9, 1942, in Bentley. He survives of
Halstead. She was a former Bentley Rebekahs Lodge member.
Other survivors include:
sons, Melvin Jr. and Linda Pitts of Halstead, and Steve and Virginia Pitts, and
Dan and Cristi Pitts, all of Bentley; daughters, Nancy and David Swart of
Bentley, and Pamela and Rick Cullum of Fort Dodge, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 29
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
grandsons, Scott Pitts, Casey Pitts and Robby Swart; brother, Dewayne Furnish;
sisters, Mildred Schultz, Lillian Fisher, Lucille Thompson, Clara Belle Phipps,
Viergie Furnish and Bertha Watson.
Visitation will be from 3 to
8 p.m. Sunday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead with visitation with family
from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Graveside services will be at
2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Bentley with the Rev. Peter
Hartman officiating.

American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
