Larry Voth
Larry Voth, 73, died Saturday
(Oct. 27, 2007) at Kidron Bethel Retirement Service in North Newton. He was
born March 19, 1943, in Goessel to Jacob A. and Maria (Unruh) Voth. On Sept. 2,
1956, he married Jane Nyce in Pretty Prairie. She survives of North Newton. He
graduated from Walton High School in Walton. He attended Bethel College in
North Newton and also graduated from Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart,
Ind. He served as pastor of the Community Mennonite Church in Markham, Ill.,
for 12 and a half years. Beginning in 1973, he served as the director of
development at Bethel College, retiring in 2001 due to illness.
Other survivors include
daughters, Laurie (Voth) and Donovan Regehr of Halstead, Leslie (Voth) and
Lauran Stephan of Mount Hope, and Linda (Voth) and Dwight Mueller of North
Newton; grandsons, Jordan, Justin and Jared Regehr, and Taylor Stephan; a
granddaughter, Sydney Stephan; bother, Harold L. and Vernelle Voth of Haven; a
brother-in-law, Jona Reimer of Walton; a sister-in-law, Clara Voth of Hesston;
nephews, Delbert Reimer, John Voth, Doug Voth and Vance Voth; nieces, Roberta
VanderMollen, Mary (Cookie) Voth; Nadine Reimer-Penner and Vernita Schrag.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; a brother, Alfred G. Voth; a sister, Gladys (Voth) Reimer; and a
granddaughter, Whitney Stephan.
Funeral service will be at 4
p.m. today at the Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton.
