Thelma Chamberlain
Thelma Chamberlain, 83, died
Tuesday (Sept. 4, 2007) in Newton. She was born on Feb. 15, 1924, in Chester,
Ark., to George H. and Carrie (Sills) Woffenden. She graduated from Newton High
School in 1944. On Aug. 26, 1945, she married Guy D. Chamberlain in Pierre,
S.D. He preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1990. Survivors include sons, Donald
and Sharon Chamberlain of Hillsboro, and Thomas and Brenda Chamberlain of
Newton; a brother, Frank Woffenden of Corrales, N.M.; a sister, Annie and Clarence Troxel; grandchildren,
Michelle and Renne Schroeder, Jeffery, Brian and Adam Chamberlain; and
great-grandchildren, Trey Carson, Marissa and Jeremy Schroeder.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; brothers, George (Curley) Richard Woffenden, William (Bill)
Woffenden, and John Woffenden; and sisters, Jane Boese and Ethel Jagt.
Visitation will be from noon
to 9 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton with family
present from 6 to 7 p.m.
Service will be at 2 p.m.
Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Miller officiating.
Burial will be at Restlawn Garden of Memories in Newton.
Memorials may be made in lieu
of flowers to Meals On Wheels in care of the funeral home.
