James Leo Brown
SEDGWICK - James Leo Brown,
69, of Sedgwick died Thursday (Sept. 6, 2007) at Manorcare Health Services in
Wichita. He was born Feb. 2, 1938, in Miles City, Mont., to James Leonard and
Helen (Verbeck) Brown. He had been a Sedgwick resident for four years after
moving from Bentley. On Aug. 19, 1989, he married Leona M. Mortsolf in rural
Newton. She survives at home. He was a member of Hick-Davison American Legion
Post 268 in Sedgwick. He served in U.S. Army in Korea. Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Dee
Spore of Newton; a brother, William Brown of Bonnie Lake, Wash; four
grandchildren; and two great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by
his parents and a sister, Marcy Brown.
Visitation will be from 3 to
8 p.m. Sunday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead with family present from 6:30
to 8 p.m.
A graveside service will be
at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Bentley with the Rev.
Jennifer Whitt officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in
Bentley.

American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
