Ruby Hamilton

Ruby Hamilton, 92, died Sept. 7, 2007, at Asbury Park Healthcare in Newton. She was born on Dec. 2, 1914, in Harvey County to Ira and Emma (Longenecker) Hamilton. She was a resident of Newton her whole life, she provided nursing care in two hospitals primarily working with newborns. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene she found her Christian faith a guiding principle for her life which gave her joy in the service she gave to others. She was very involved in caring for her parents and enjoyed being involved in the lives of her extended family.

Survivors include nephews, Ken Hamilton and Jim Hamilton, both of Newton; and brothers, John and Beulah Hamilton of Newton and Lester and Mary Hamilton of Des Moines, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Irvin Hamilton; and sisters, Esther McKee and Mary Ritter.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Church of the Nazarene in Newton with Pastor Ron Thornton officiating. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery in Zimmerdale.
