Lanny D. Unruh
Lanny D. Unruh, 65, died
Wednesday (Sept. 12, 2007) at his residence in Newton. He was born on July 6,
1942, in Goessel to Virgil and Linda (Franz) Unruh. He graduated from the
University of Chicago with a degree in English. He lived in Chicago for nearly
40 years. He worked for the state of Illinois until his retirement. He enjoyed
golf and reading. He was a caregiver for several people in his family. He
greatly enjoyed spending time with his loving family and especially his nephews
and niece.
Survivors include his mother,
Linda Williams and stepfather, W.G. Williams of Newton; brothers, Terry and
Susan Unruh of Wichita and Gary Unruh of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Gail
Unruh-Revel and Harry Revel of Newton; nephews, David Unruh of Albuquerque, N.M.,
and Samuel Revel of Newton; a niece, Marie Unruh of Kansas City, Kan.; aunts,
Velma Fraz of Goessel, Irma Dahl of Hillsboro and Marjorie Zarnowski of
McPherson; and ex-wife, Barbara Unruh of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by
his father.
Service will be at 5 p.m.
Sunday at Harvey County West Park in Newton. Burial will be private.
