Lucy Joyce Wallace Miller
Lucy Joyce Wallace Miller
died on Aug. 3, 2007, after a short illness. She was born on May 6, 1928, in
Louisville, Ky. She was married to Inghram Miller on Jan. 17, 1959. He
survives. Joyce achieved a master's degree in special education, and became a
beloved special education teacher. She taught in schools in the Phoenix, Ariz.
district, and on the nearby native-American reservation. In her later years,
she assisted her husband, Dr. Ingrham Miller, in his dental practice.
She was very interested in
genealogy, and served in leadership positions in many organizations dedicated
to the discovery, maintenance, and continuation of family histories. She was
active in the Daughter's of the American Revolution as well as several other
genealogical groups. She had many friends and many interests. But children and
travel were her two passions. She will be grievously missed by all who knew
her.
She is survived by many
family members still living in Kentucky.
Everyone is invited to join
with St. Matthew's Church to celebrate the life of Lucy Joyce Miller and
commend her to her God. An Episcopal service of the dead will be offered at 11
a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 2001 Windsor in Newton, in memory
and thanksgiving for the life and grace of Mrs. Joyce Miller, long time member
of St. Matthew's.
