Albert Hiebert
Albert Hiebert, 87, died
Sunday (Sept. 16, 2007) at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. He was born on March
30, 1920, in Lehigh to Mary (Friesen) and John Hiebert. He attended school in
Lincolnville and Peabody High School. He married Laura Breitenstein on July 12,
1952, at First Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson. This year, they celebrated 55
years of marriage. He was employed by the Fred Harvey laundry company before
entering the U.S. Army, where he was with the No. 609 Tank Destroyer. He was
honorably discharged on Nov. 1, 1945. After his discharge, he was employed by
Detroit Mobile Home company. In 1983, he retired from DMH.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening
and working with his flowers. He also had a favorite pastime of making
birdhouses and crosses and donating them to friends and families.
Survivors include his wife;
two sisters, Ella Ramsay of North Newton and Rose Weesner of Newton.
He was preceded in death by
his parents and a brother, Frank Hiebert.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton with
family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
Service will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Newton with the Rev. James W. Anderson
officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Garden of Memory in Newton.

First Presbyterian Church or Harry Hynes Hospice in care of the funeral home.
