Patricia Ann Meacham
Patricia Ann Meacham, 75,
died Monday (Sept., 24, 2007) at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice-St. Francis in
Wichita. She was born on May 31, 1932, in Newton to Frank A. and Marie I.
(Grace) Beeson. She was the class treasurer for her class and graduated from
Newton High School in 1950. She married Eddy G. Meacham on Dec. 2, 1950, in
Newton. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1992. She worked as a bookkeeper
and buyer for Katherine's and Katydid for 34 years. She loved her job and the interaction
with all of the patrons. She was very active in her church and involved in the
community. She was a charter member of the Trinity Heights United Methodist
Church, a member of Elizabeth Circle, the choir and the Peace Makers Group.
She was a Girl Scout Leader
and a Boy Scout den mother for her children. She held offices with Treble
Cleff, Round Table and Newton Medical Center Association. She had the honor of
being recognized as a The Newton Kansan Woman of the Year in 1998.
She was a member of MEO club,
the Olson Scholarship Board, Chapter AG P.E.O, Quirky Quilters, pinochle club,
numerous bridge clubs, 20th Century Club, Kansas Christian Home Auxiliary, the
Newton Business Professional Women Club, the Christian Women's Bible Study
Group and sang in the Newton Community Theater.
She did volunteer work as a
caller for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile. She was also a avid K-State
Football fan and KU basketball fan.
She especially supported and
loved her children, grandchildren, their spouse's and her three
great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter,
Sherry and Dave Kriegshauser of Eskridge; a son, Frank and Sue Meacham of
Newton; granddaughters, Stacy and Jason Balzer of Commerce Township, Mich. and
Cori and Zach Land of Overland Park; grandsons, Travis Kriegshauser and Emily
Mertz, Mike and Nicole Kriegshauser, Bryan Kriegshauser and Krystal
Roskowinski, and Larry Kriegshauser; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Lee and Sydney
Ann Balzer of Commerce Township, Mich. and Zoe Elizabeth Land of Overland Park;
a sister, Donna and Ted Gottas of Bellevue, Wash.; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and step-mother, Hattie Beeson.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton with family
present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Service will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton with the Rev.
Phil Fischer officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Garden of Memories in
Newton.

Trinity Heights Methodist Church Musical Program or Harry Hynes Hospice in care
of the funeral home.
