Emile J. Reimer
NORTH NEWTON - Emile J.
Reimer, 84, died Tuesday (July 31, 2007) at Kidron Bethel Health Care in North
Newton. She was born on Feb. 2, 1923, in Hillsboro to Dan and Emma (Schroeder)
Klassen. On June 25, 1950, she married Eldon Reimer at First Mennonite Church
in Hillsboro. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1973. She was a longtime
active member of Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton. She was a
beautician, owning her own shop in Newton from 1947 to 1993. She volunteered on
the social committee at the church, Prairie View and at Kidron Bethel Village.
Emile looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends
she had made on her life's journey.
Survivors include daughters,
Denise and Doug Yoder of Lawrence and Brenda and Mike Foster of Independence,
Mo.; a sister, Dayle and Ennis Unruh of Hillsboro; son-in-law, Bob Flickner of
Garland, Texas; a grandson, Blake and Mary Flickner of Mansfield, Texas;
granddaughters, Linday and Sam Morrissey of Arlington, Texas, Elizabeth and
Nathan Chang of Oviedo, Fla. and Jennifer and Ben Shear of Roseville, Mich.;
brothers-in-law, Skee and Ruth Reimer of St. Paul, Minn. Richard and Evelyn
Reimer of Canton and Jim Peters of Hillsboro; sister-in-law, Elsie and Orville
Unruh of Goessel; 16 nieces and nephews; great-grandson, Isaiah Flickner of
Mansfield, Texas; and a great-granddaughter, Allison Shear of Roseville, Minn.
She was preceded in death by
her husband; parents; a daughter, Susan Flickner; and a sister, Marjorie
Peters.
Visitation will be from 4 to
9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with family present from 6:30
to 8 p.m. Family also will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at Kidron
Bethel Village Menno Hall.
Service will be at 2 p.m.
Saturday at First Mennonite Church in North Newton with Chaplain Amanda Rempel
officiating. A private family burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
