Moreland Carr Williams
Moreland Carr Williams, 90,
died Wednesday (Aug. 1, 2007) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. He was born
on Dec. 3, 1916, in Storer, Mo. to Harmon and Sadie Jane (Fradenburg) Williams.
He graduated from Sedalia High School in Sedalia, Mo. On Oct. 14, 1944, he
married Vera Mae Winsky. He was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church in
Newton and was a longtime member of Gideon's International. He served in the U.
S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He worked as a machinist for the Santa Fe
Railroad for 1945 up to his retirement 1977.
Survivors include sons, David
Carr Williams of El Dorado, Victor Eugene Ewy of Clarion, Pa. and William Allen
Williams of Turney, Mo.; a daughter, Marilyn Mae McCann; many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, a sister, a grandson, a son and his wife.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton with family
present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Service will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Meridian Baptist Church in Newton with Pastor Jerrell Martens
officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
