Sondra Berry
WALTON - Sondra Berry, 67, of
Walton died Saturday (Aug. 4, 2007) at the Cancer Treatment Center of America
in Tulsa, Okla. She was born on Sept. 10, 1939, in Newton to Norman and Maurine
(Dreier) Briar. She graduated from Newton High School in 1970. She attended
Highland Trinity Church of Christ and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary,
both of Newton. She worked as a cosmetologist in Newton for many years. She
loved KU basketball and was an avid softball fan. Her family was very important
to her, and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.
Survivors include her
husband, Stephan B. Berry of Walton; her parents; daughters, Janet and Barry
Wentz of Walton, Jill and Daniel Feay of Newton, Jackie and Randy Curtis of
Newton, and Shannan Burns of Walton; brothers, Vic and Carmen Briar of Canon City,
Colo., Stan and Switlana Briar of Hesston; grandsons, Tyson Hendershott of
Walton, Brandon Wentz of Topeka, Adam Curtis of Newton, Josh Curtis of Newton,
Cobe and Cooper Burns of Walton; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Kaden
Hendershott of Walton.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Newton
with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Service will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday at Highland Trinity United Church of Christ in Newton with Pastor
Sheree Boman officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in rural Newton.
