Anne Marie (Regier) Jantz
Anne Marie (Regier) Jantz,
82, of Reedley, Calif., formerly of Newton and Hoxie, was taken into eternal
life on Friday (Aug. 10, 2007) with her daughters by her side at her home in
Reedley, where she retired after teaching school for 24 years.
She was born June 23, 1925,
in Newton to Marie Enns and Daniel C. Regier. She was a 1944 graduate of Buhler
High School and a 1970 graduate of Bethel College. On Aug. 26, 1949, she
married Irvin Wayne Jantz of rural Hesston in Boulder, Colo.
She enjoyed many memorable
travels throughout her lifetime. With her family, Anne actively participated in
N.C.H.A. and enjoyed camping in many state and national parks across America.
Her passion was to travel, and she enjoyed photographing and scrapbooking these
many excursions. She shared first hand the different lands and cultures she
visited with her students at Hoxie Grade School, where she taught social
studies and geography for 17 years. A highlight of her life was traveling to
Europe to attend the 1967 Mennonite World Conference in Amsterdam.
Survivors include her sister,
Marjorie Nachtigal of Inman; daughters, Khyleen (Schippers) Schwarzenberger and
her husband Bob of Wichita, and Krystine Baalman and her husband Rodney of
Menlo; and son, Paul D. Jantz and his wife Rosella of Reedley. She was blessed
with nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Wayne Jantz of Harlingen, Texas, a son-in-law, Mark Schippers of
Hoxie and her brother-in-law Dan E. Nachtigal of Inman.
Friends may call from 2 to 8
p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday at Buhler Mortuary
in Buhler.
Funeral Services will be at
10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church in rural Inman with Pastor
Fred Obold presiding. Burial will be in Hoffnungsau Cemetery.
