Doris I. "Jackie" Unruh, died
Monday (Dec. 3, 2018) at the Homestead of Halstead.
She was born April 1, 1933, in Canton
to Ervin and Adeline (Nightingale) Becker.
She was a Halstead resident since 1955
and was a dietary worker at Halstead Hospital for 20 years.
On Feb. 15, 1953, she married Edwin A.
Unruh in Moundridge. He preceded her in death Sept. 10, 2011.
She is survived by daughters, Rita
(Alan) Beach of Haysville, Trula (Daniel) Unruh of Gentry, Arkansas,
and Lisa Unruh of Columbus, Mississippi; brothers, LeRoy and John
(Minnie) Becker of Moundridge; sisters: Wilma Nightingale, Nadine
Unruh and LaVaun (Frank) Wenger, all of Moundridge, Deola (Carl)
Wenger of Hesston and Judy (Harold) Koehn of Montezuma; four
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister,
Marcella Koehn.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday (Dec. 5, 2018) at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. The
family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be
10 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 6, 2018), also at Kaufman Funeral Home, with
Ministers Dean Becker and Franklin Wenger presiding. Burial will
follow at Halstead Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd
Hospice in care of the funeral home.
