Obituary
Ronald Leo Dougan, 73, went to his
heavenly home early in the morning on Monday (Dec. 10, 2018).
He was born on Sept. 10, 1945, in
Walnut to Leo and Lola (Balla) Dougan.
Ron spent his early years living in
Walnut, Dodge City and Newton.
Ron worked in Wichita and, after
retirement, moved to Newton. He was pleased to have his own home and
lived there the past 25 years.
He will be remembered by all those who
loved him as gentle, kind, compassionate, loyal and dependable. He
was always ready to ride along if you were going somewhere,
especially for a bite to eat or a short visit.
Ron is survived by three sisters,
Bonita Esau and husband Merlin of Newton, Mary Ann Massengill of
Newton and Lois McClain and husband Larry of Cotter, Arkansas.
Ron was preceded in death by his
parents; and 18-month-old sister, Earlene Odeva Dougan.
Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. Thursday (Dec. 13, 2018) at Church of God of the Firstborn, 125
E. 10th in Newton, where Ron was a faithful and active member. Burial
will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Friends may call at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 12, 2018),
where the family will receive friends between 6 and 7:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to Church
of God of the Firstborn or Good Shepherd Hospice. Contributions may
