Tanya Barber
Obituary
Tanya Renae (Lee) Barber was born Aug.
26, 1983, to David Lee and Sandra (Lee) Tafolla. She died on Thursday
(Dec. 13, 2018) after a lifetime of issues with diabetes. Prior to
her passing, she had spent the last three months in a diabetic coma
at the St. Francis Extended Care Unit in Wichita.
Tanya was known for her beautiful smile
that "could light up a room." She had the biggest heart and
the kindest soul. She was considered the driving force of her family
for all holiday and family gatherings; she always included numerous
extended family and friends. Her family was her world.
She is survived by her parents; her
husband, Jeremy Barber; and daughters, Katie Wilson and Kassie
Barber. Additional surviving family members include her brothers,
Chris, Jhonathan and Jarrod; sister, Dakota; "daughter of the
heart," Maeghan Altman; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and
close friends, too many to list.
A celebration of her life will be held
on Saturday (Dec. 22, 2018) at The First Christian Church, 102 E.
First St., Newton. Meet and greet will be held at 10 a.m. in
Fellowship Hall, with coffee, cake and rolls being served. Please
feel free to join the family in sharing memories and pictures of
"Life with Tanya." The Christian Service will follow in the
sanctuary, with Rev. Gary Bell presiding.
