Obituary
James Edward Hawk, 42, passed away
Wednesday (Dec. 12, 2018) unexpectedly.
Born Dec. 16, 1975, in Newton, he was
the son of George R. and Betty A. Hawk, Topeka.
James graduated from Newton High School
in 1994 and attended Hutchinson Community College.
James had been employed as a Conductor
for BNSF Railroad. He had also worked as an Operations and Retail
Manager for many years.
He loved to play soccer for the Bethel
College Summer Soccer League in Newton and for Grand Valley Adult
Soccer League in Grand Junction, Colorado. Sports of all kinds were
James' passion, along with music and spending time with his family.
James was a strong leader and provider for his family.
James was preceded in death by
grandparents, David R. Sr. and Gertrude H. Hawk and Roy E. and
Frances L. Gibson.
James is survived by wife, Rebecca A.
Hawk; sons, Jordan D. Hawk and Landon J. Hawk; father, George R.
Hawk; mother, Betty A. Hawk; brother, Chris N. Hawk; sister-in-law,
Amy C. Hawk; nieces, Kiley, Rory and Emory; sister, Erin E. Engel;
brother-in-law, Kevin W. Engel; niece, Ava Michael; father-in-law Dan
Witt Sr.; mother-in-law, Rhonda J. Witt; brother-in-law, Daniel D.
Witt Jr.; sister-in-law, Jill R. Witt; nephews, Riley, Riggin and
Sean; and niece, Lilly.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m.
Thursday (Dec. 20, 2018) at Victory Life Church, 2066 Highway 6 &
50, Fruita, CO 81521. James will be laid to rest at 1 p.m. Dec. 27,
2018, at Greenwood Cemetery, 1100 E. First St., Newton, KS 67114.
