Obituary
Dolores Ann "Ma" (Grochowsky)
McNeill, 87, of Newton entered eternal life on Sunday (Dec. 16, 2018)
surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 18, 1931, in Newton
to Michael and Mary (Sieg) Grochowsky. She grew up between Newton and
Slaton, Texas, as her dad worked for the railroad. She graduated as
salutatorian from Slaton High School in 1948. She worked as a
directory assistant for Southwestern Bell Telephone until her
retirement in 1996. After her retirement, she continued her lifelong
passions of living her faith and caring for family.
Ma loved attending daily Mass,
Eucharistic Adoration and praying the nightly Rosary. She enjoyed
cooking and baking for her family, especially weekly Sunday dinners.
Ma enjoyed spending time with family, teaching them how to pray, play
cards and cook, all while reminiscing and sharing on her and Pa's
childhoods.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic
Church, but also loved her church family at Our Lady of Guadalupe
Catholic Church.
On Feb. 20, 1954, she married Robert
(Bob) "Pa" McNeill in Newton. They celebrated 64 years of
marriage.
Ma is survived by her husband; two
sons, William McNeill of Garden City and Anthony (Penny) McNeill of
Whitewater; six daughters: Monica (Michael) Davis, Kathy (Warren)

Durler of Wright, Diane (Wally) Mack of Manhattan and Janine (Brad)
McGlachlin of Wichita; 27 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and

She was preceded in death by her
parents; brothers, Vincent (Julie) and Leon (Patsy); sisters,
Margaret (Martin) Gronau, Gertrude (David) Hawk and Barbara
