Charlene 'Charn' Cornett, 87

BURRTON—Charlene ‘Charn’ Cornett
began her new life in heaven on Dec. 2, 2018. Charlene was born in
Burrton, Kansas, July 27, 1931, to Chester C. and Faye L. Collins.
She was employed by the State Bank of
Burrton for 36 years. Charlene was a member of the Burrton United
Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, and Junior
Nova Vista, all of Burrton. She enjoyed quilting, gardening,
fishing, singing in the church choir, and sewing. She was a very
devoted sister and aunt.
On July 30, 1949, she married William
R. Cornett, who preceded her in death Dec. 1, 2015.
Charlene was also preceded in death by
one brother, Harold E. Collins and both parents, Chester C. and Faye
L. Collins.
Charlene is survived by one sister and
brother-in-law, Marjorie L. and Joseph D. Pearce of Burrton. She was
and is loved by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews, along with great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Burrton United Methodist Church, 114 West
Center Street, Burrton, with Pastor Kim Andrews officiating. Burial
will follow in Burrton Cemetery. Friends called from 1 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott
Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Burrton United Methodist Church,
in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
