Obituary
PECK - Daniel Ray Davis Sr., 61, died
Monday (Dec. 24, 2018) at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.
He was born Aug. 4, 1957, at
Grandfield, Oklahoma, to James R. and Eva L. (Riley) Davis.
Formerly of Halstead, he was a resident
of Peck for the last 10 years.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist
Church, Wichita, and was always very active in his churches and
community. He was a former trustee and taught children's church at
Halstead Baptist Church for 28 years. He was a Cubmaster for Cub
Scouts, taught hunter safety, coached soccer and baseball and
softball, as well as played softball himself until two years ago.
He also served his country in the U.S.
Marine Corps, U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, and Air National Guard.
He was a conductor for BNSF Railway.
On April 4, 1980, he married Glenda J.
Fields at Camp, Arkansas; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include son: Heath (Art
Mendez) Weesner- Temecula, California; Danny (Aeneva) Davis, Jr. of
Olathe, Paul (Katie) Davis, Hoyt; daughters; Stacey (Jonathan) Day of
Valley Center; Barbara (William) White of Clarksville, Tennessee;
mother Eva Davis of Camp, Arkansas; brothers: James (Anna) Davis of
Rogers, Arkansas; John Davis of Camp, Arkansas; sisters: Ellen (Ray
Gene) Harris of Jordan, Arkansas; Carol (Gene) McBroom of Salem,
Arkansas; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
Friday (Dec. 28, 2018) at Kaufman Funeral Home. The family will
receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, (Dec. 29, 2018) at Halstead Baptist Church with Pastor Jon
Swope officiating. Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Halstead
Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice
Inpatient Unit in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
