Norma Jean Minner
Obituary
Norma Jean Wright Minner, 89, a
resident of Cape Charles, Virginia, formerly of Goldsboro, North
Carolina, passed away Sept. 27, 2018, at Riverside Shore Memorial
Hospital in Onancock, Virginia. A native of Newton, she was the
daughter of the late Earl Wright and the late Elizabeth Carter
Wright. Mrs. Minner was a Registered Nurse, a wonderful mother and
animal lover. She was a graduate of Newton High School and Stormont
Vail School of Nursing.
She is survived by two daughters, Marci
M. Minshew of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Cynthia M. Sherkey of
Cheriton, Virginia; eight grandchildren: Christopher, Caleb, Chelsea,
Taylor, Ethan, Evan, Ana and John; and one great-granddaughter,
Tessa. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews: Monica
Schmidt Thompson of Dallas, Jodi Stowell of Park City, Utah, Tom
Schmidt of Lawrence, Terry Schmidt of Bettendorf, Iowa, Claudia Luthi
of Manhattan, Susan O'Neill of Manhattan, Jeff Wright of Hutchinson,
Andy Wright of Victoria, Randy Mathews of Newton and Mike Mathews of
Kansas City, Missouri.
She is predeceased by sisters, Mildred
"Mickey" Schmidt, Florence Wright and LaVera Mathews.
To honor her request, a private family
service will be held at a later date.
