Melvin Hiebert
Obituary
Melvin R. Hiebert, 80, died Tuesday
(Nov. 6, 2018) at Bethesda Home in Goessel. He was born on March 10,
1938, in Hillsboro, to Menno M. and Anna Flaming Hiebert. He married
Norma J. Wiens on April 2, 1958, in Goessel.
Melvin attended Steinbach Elementary
School and graduated from Goessel High School in 1956. He worked as a
farmer and dairyman. He was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite
Church of Goessel.
He is survived by his wife, Norma of
Goessel; daughter, Nancy (Bruce) Funk of North Newton; two
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Merlin (Velma)
Hiebert of Canton and Larry (Sharon) Hiebert of Valley Center; and
sisters, Evelyn Matz of Marion and Delora Funk of North Newton.
Preceding him in death are his parents;
and a sister, Vernetta Hiebert.
Cremation is planned. A memorial
service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 11, 2018) at the Bethesda
Home Chapel. A private family inurnment will take place at a later
date.
