Kenneth L. Krehbiel
Kenneth L. Krehbiel, 80, died
Monday (Aug. 27, 2007) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. He was born on Sept.
13, 1926, in Hutchinson to Albert and Mary (Flickinger) Krehbiel. In 1951, he
married Lynette Waltner. They were married until 1977. She preceded him in
death in 1999. He married Lucy Reavis in 1978. She preceded him in death in
2004. He served his country in the U. S. Navy in World War II. He was the music
instructor for Moundridge High School retiring in 1971. He then went to work
for Boeing Aircraft as a technical writer until his retirement. He attended
Bethany College and graduated from Bethel College and earned his master's
degree in music at Wichita State University. He had a life-long love of music.
He also was a avid radio-controlled model airplane enthusiast. He enjoyed
sharing creative photography with his friends and family.
Survivors include sons, Ken
Krehbiel of Washington, D.C., and Keith Krehbiel of Stanford, Calif.;
granddaughters, Sara and Emily Krehbiel of Stanford, Calif.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; a brother, Albert Dean Krehbiel; and a sister, Pearl Stucky.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with family present from 6:30
to 8 p.m. The casket will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. It will
then remain closed.
Service will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday at First Mennonite Church in Pretty Prairie with Pastor Lester Zook
officiating. Burial will be at First Mennonite Cemetery in Pretty Prairie.
