Delbert Hamm

HILLSBORO - Delbert Hamm, 73, died Sunday (July 8, 2007) in Newton. He was born on June 16, 1934, in Hillsboro to Edward and Bertha Hill Hamm. He was a contracted milk hauler. On July 6, 1984, he married Carolyn Turner in Newton. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Durham. Survivors include his wife; sons, Lonnie and Donna Hamm of rural Hillsboro, and Ronnie and Denise Hamm of Newton; daughters, Connie and Tom Jenkins of Pratt, Bonnie and Royce Saltzman of Newton, Sharon Schabel of Wichita, and Tammy and Patrick Arebalo of Wichita; brothers, Duane Hamm of Hillsboro, and Marivn Hamm of Wells; sisters, Elma Klein and Florence Hett, both of Hillsboro; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and extended family, a son, David Peaney of Newton; daughters, Chris Stuart and Carrie Kasper, both of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Hamm, in 1982.

Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Durham with Pastor Curtis Wiens officiating. Burial will be private.

Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.
