William 'Bill' Dean Miller
GOESSEL - William
"Bill" Dean Miller, 82, died Sunday (July 22, 2007) at Bethesda Home
in Goessel. He was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Ellsworth to William H. and Ruth
(Fowler) Miller. He married Pauline H. Janzen on Aug. 21, 1944, in Ellsworth.
She survives. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He grew up on a farm
in Ellsworth County and graduated from Brookville High School in 1942. He
served in the United States Army. He was a clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad for
36 years. He enjoyed going to the mountains in Colorado and exploring the jeep
and hiking trails.
He is survived by a daughter
and son-in-law, Maxine and Gerald Williams of Newton; one sister, Mary Ellen
and Ralph Soldan of Mackville; one granddaughter, Lynette and Jeffrey Wyss of
Newton; and one great-grandson, Brandon Wyss of Newton.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; a half-brother, Vernon Miller; and a half-sister, Martha Austin.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
The funeral will be at 10
a.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with Pastor Jerrell Martins
presiding. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Lorraine Baptist Cemetery in
Lorraine.
Memorials have been
established with the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
