Mary Steinert
Mary L. Steinert, 81, died Monday (Dec.
31, 2018) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Bristow,
Oklahoma, to Andrew Jackson and Millie Naoma (Deel) Gower.
She was a Halstead resident since 1978
and worked in the Hertzler Clinic business office.
On March 23, 1953, she married Donald
W. Steinert. He preceded her in death March 3, 2018.
Survivors include sons, Donald
(Kathleen) Steinert of Halstead and Darren (Jennifer) Steinert of
Newton; daughters, Rhonda (Don) Christy of Halstead, Debbie (Wayne)
Steinert Warden of Wichita and Sue (Leroy) Whitmer of Halstead;
sisters, Barbara (Mike) McDowell of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Thelma
Cates of Holyrood and Francis Woolverton of El Dorado;
daughter-in-law, Renee Steinert of Moundridge; special friend,
Stephanie Steiner of Halstead; 15 grandchildren; and 27
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a
son, Ronald; brothers, Ray and Glenn Gower; and sisters, Norma Jean
Woodsend, Ruth Costanza and Wanda Harford.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
Thursday (Jan. 3, 2019) at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. The family
will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be 2
p.m. Friday (Jan. 4, 2018), also at Kaufman Funeral Home. Burial will
follow at Halstead Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the
Alzheimer's Association in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
