Frieda Neufeld
Obituary
Frieda Braun Neufeld, 92, died Monday
(Jan. 21, 2019) at Kidron Bethel Nursing Home, North Newton. She was
born Aug. 27, 1926, in Henderson, Nebraska, to Jacob I. and Marie
(Regier) Braun. Frieda graduated from Henderson High School in 1942
and attended Tabor College and Iowa Wesleyan University.
Frieda was an LPN for many years and
also an elementary teacher. She was a member of Eden Mennonite
Church. She was very artistic and loved gardening and cooking.
On June 2, 1951, she married Walter P.
Neufeld in Henderson, Nebraska. They shared 67 years of marriage. He
survives.
Other survivors include children: Jean
(Gary) Regier and Alan (Kathy) Neufeld, all of Moundridge, James
(Terri) Neufeld of Greeley, Colorado, Janet Neufeld of Oklahoma City
and Jerold (Kathy) Neufeld of Caldwell, Idaho; 16 grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Gregg Snyder of Springville,
California; siblings: Harlan (Nancy) Braun of Henderson, Nebraska,
Esther (Jake) Ediger of Topeka, Lillian Witzel of Phoenix, Wes Braun
of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Wilma (LeRoy) Balzer of Alamo,
California; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; sisters, Alene Ediger and Hannah Morehead; and daughter,
Christine Snyder.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside
service will be 10 a.m. Friday (Jan. 25, 2019) at Eden Mennonite
Cemetery, with memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at Eden
Mennonite Church. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Thursday (Jan. 24, 2019) at Moundridge Funeral Home.
