Beverly (Bennett) Sisler

Beverly (Bennett) Barritt Sisler 87,
passed away January 18, 2019. Beverly was born in Wellington,
Kansas, October 28, 1931, to Marshall and Ruth (McKeever) Bennett.
She grew up in Valley Center, Kansas, graduating from high school
there. She attended Wichita University (WSU) and was a 1950
cheerleader. Her first marriage to WU football player LeRoy Barritt
took her to South Bend IN., where she worked as a secretary in the
law department at Notre Dame. On her return to Valley Center a few
years later, Beverly worked as a legal secretary at a Wichita law
firm and later as a secretary to the manager at the American Red
Cross. She remarried in 1968, to a Wichita firefighter, Wally Sisler
(25 years). In her retirement years, living in Sun City, AZ., she
served as a Red Cross Volunteer. Right after the “9-11”
attack, she was sent to New York City for three weeks by the Red
Cross, where her job was to meet with individuals and families
impacted by the disaster and issue them checks on behalf of the Red
Cross.
Beverly is preceded in death by beloved
companion Richard Bondon, brother Larry Bennett and son-in-law Stan
Wiechman. She is survived by son Mark (Deb) Barriett, Colorado;
daughter Beth Wiechman, Sedgwick; sister Marsha Bibb, AZ; four
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions
may be made to the American Red Cross, 707 North Main, Wichita, Ks.

Services will be held Wednesday,
January 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home. With Chaplain
Tal Tittsworth presiding. Viewing will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday
prior to the service. Private interment will be in the Hillside
