James Thiessen
Obituary
James D. Thiessen entered Heaven's
Gates on Monday (Jan. 28, 2019) at Kidron Village in North Newton. He
was born on Aug. 30, 1927, to Abraham and Maria (Hoffman) Thiessen at
his home near Munich, North Dakota.
He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree
in Bible and Philosophy, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education
and a Master's Degree in Education from Northeastern State
University. Further academic studies followed at Emporia State
University and Wichita State University.
These academic studies prepared James
for a lifetime of work as a pastor, teacher and school administrator.
He was the Superintendent of Berean Academy in Elbing for 28 years.
James leaves behind the love of his
life, Gladys, of North Newton; and their children: Karen and Irv
Busenitz of Santa Clarita, California, Kerwin and Julie Thiessen of
Valley Center, Korrene and Michael Keenan of Houston, Keith and Deb
Thiessen of Omaha, Nebraska, and Kenneth and Marchel Thiessen of
Valley Center. He also leaves a legacy of 10 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10
a.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 2019) at Whitewater Community Church in
Whitewater. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday (Feb. 1,
2019) at Whitewater Community Church.

Berean Academy and Whitewater Community Church.
