Elda Schrag-Jantzen
Obituary
Elda R. Schrag-Jantzen, 83, went to her
heavenly home Monday (Jan. 28, 2019) at her home in North Newton. She
was born Oct. 14, 1935, in Newton, to Peter P. and Marie (Ratzlaff)
Penner. Elda graduated from Inman High School and had worked in food
service at Newton High School for 16 years and at Bethel College
Granary. She was a member of West Zion Mennonite Church.
On May 3, 2008, she married Dale
Jantzen in Hesston. They shared 10 years of marriage. He survives.
Other survivors include children, Kerry
Schrag (Sue Smith) of Topeka, Leslie (LeAnn) Schrag of Newton and
Janell (John) Janzen of Newton; sisters, Lavina (Austin) Havens of
McPherson and Velma Unruh of Galva; 12 grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Elda was preceded in death by her
parents; husbands, Abe Schrag in 1983 and Paul Schrag in 2005;
sisters: Mary Ratzlaff, Anna Duerksen, Lena Schmidt and Hulda
Androes; brothers, Dave Penner and Henry Penner; and
great-granddaughter, Emery Grace Preston.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m.
Saturday (Feb. 2, 2019) at West Zion Mennonite Church, Moundridge.
Burial will follow in West Zion Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to
8 p.m. Friday (Feb. 1, 2019) at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family
to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
