Jerald F. Dirks
WICHITA—Jerald F.
Dirks, 69, died, Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 28, 1949, at Newton to
Fred, Jr. and Hazel (Mickelson) Dirks.
He was a clinical psychologist, author
and lecturer. He was the former head of Clinical Psychology at
National Jewish Hospital, Denver. He also taught at Denver University
and the University of Colorado. He authored ten books on history,
interfaith relations and Arabian horses.
He was a member of the Islamic
community.
On Sept. 14, 1969, he married Debra L.
Stucky at Moundridge. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his son Sean
(Robin) Patrick Dirks, Peyton, Colo.; three grandchildren, Kyle,
Brittany and Ekatrina Dirks; and step-grandson Chris Price.
In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by a brother, Duane Dirks.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Halstead Cemetery.
The family will receive visits of
condolences from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15 through 17, at their
home.
Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead is in
charge of arrangements.
