Carl M. Thompson
Carl M. Thompson, 93, passed
away Saturday (July 28, 2007) at the Veterans Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born on Jan. 5, 1914,
in Cherryvale to Benjamin H. and Eva Mae (Carl) Thompson. He married Dorothy E.
(Johnson) Thompson on April 10, 1937. He opened Thompson's Liquor Store in
1950; in 1976, he retired and sold his business. He was a Purple Heart Veteran
from World War II. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, VFW, American Legion
and a past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his
daughter, Karla A. Balsamo of Newton; grandsons, Torre and Trista Pusey of
Redwood City, Calif. and Trent Pusey of Louisville, Ky.; and a
great-granddaughter, Tea Pusey of Redwood City.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; his wife; and a sister, Norma T. Matthews.
Private services and burial
will be handled by Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
