Topeka - Beverly A. (Nelson)
Holstead, 77, died Thursday (March 30, 2006) at the Presbyterian Manor in
Topeka. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Downing and Lahey East
Mortuary in Wichita, and burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Beverly was born Nov. 8, 1928, in Cincinnati to Wilbur and Wilma Nelson and was
raised in Newton. She married Richard L. Holstead Dec. 26, 1951. He preceded
her in death. She was a graduate of Emporia Teachers College. She settled into
married life as a homemaker and school music teacher. She was a member of the
Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita.
She was much loved and will
be greatly missed.
Survivors include: two
children, a daughter, Carol E. Holstead of Lawrence, and a son, David N.
Holstead of Topeka; and a sister, Barbara Scofield of Newton.
Memorials have been
established with the Topeka Presbyterian Manor in care of the "Good
Samaritan Fund," 4712 S.W. Sixth Street, Topeka, Kansas, 66606.
