Hilda M. Busenitz

Hilda M. Busenitz, 100, died Tuesday (April 18, 2006) at her residence in Newton. She was born Jan. 11, 1906, to Bernard W. and Anna (Claassen) Entz in rural Harvey County. She married Edward A. Busenitz Oct. 15, 1932, in Newton. He preceded her in death Dec. 20, 1985. She was an active member of Grace Community Church in Newton. Hilda greatly enjoyed gardening and flowers and was previously on the flower committee of First Mennonite Church and took care of the many pots and plants at the church. Hilda also enjoyed sharing her flowers and arrangements with her many friends and family she visited.

Survivors include: sons, Donald and Judy Busenitz of Newton and Norman and Mij Busenitz of Sighet, Romania; a daughter, Vernelle and Michael Tallman of Wichita; a brother, Willard Entz of Newton; a sister, Edith Harms of Newton; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Community Church with Pastor David E. Reimer officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with the School of Missions Romania and Heart Ministries Victory Village Hutchinson, both in care of the funeral home.
