Michael E. Banks
Michael E. Banks, 49, died
Friday (April 28, 2006) at his residence.
He was born Aug. 26, 1956, to
Charles E. and Joann (Purl) Banks in Oklahoma City.
He graduated from Newton High
School in 1975. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marines
Corps in 1976. He was previously married to Janet Banks. He worked numerous
places in Wichita and at Norcraft in Newton as of late. He enjoyed talking on
his CB radio as a hobby. He enjoyed his family and friends.
Survivors include: his
mother, Joann (Purl) Banks of Newton; sons, Michael E. Banks II of Junction
City and Patrick Banks of Newton; a brother, Frank Banks of Newton; sisters,
Julie (Banks) Grooms of Albuquerque, N.M., Grace (Banks) Ebersole of Clairton,
Pa., Terri (Banks) Jones of Aberdeen, Md., Twila Smith of Newton and Myrtle
Banks of Wichita; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by:
his father, Charles E. Banks; and a brother, Vernon Banks.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Saturday with family greeting friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, all at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 1
p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Revs. Wilson and Edwards officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery.
Memorials have been
established with the March of Dimes in care of the funeral home.
