Corny K. Isaac
MEADE - Corny K. Isaac, age
94, died Saturday (May 13, 2006) at the Kidron-Bethel Village Nursing Home in
North Newton.
He was born Jan. 17, 1912, in
rural Meade County to Peter F. and Katie (Kornelson) Isaac. As a young boy he
attended school in a rural country school, located in rural Meade County. A
lifetime resident of Meade, he was a carpenter and a farmer.
He was a member of the
Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade, serving on the board of trustees for
several years. He enjoyed woodworking and taking several traveling tours with
his wife. In 1980, they served two months in Africa as missionaries.
On Sept. 8, 1932, he married
Mary F. Reimer in Meade. She survives.
Other survivors include:
sons, Menno Isaac of North Newton, Dewayn Isaac of Chouteau, Okla., and Ken
Isaac of Meade; daughters, Alma Schmidt of Newton, Mary Ann Spiva of Jet,
Okla., Joan Becker of Upland, Calif., Betty Friesen of Meade and Sharon Schell
of Lee's Summit, Mo.; a brother, Jake K. Isaac of Reedley, Calif.; sisters,
Anna Friesen and Lena Isaac, both of Hesston; 20 grandchildren; and 29
great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by: a
son, John Eldon Isaac; four brothers, Abe, Pete, John and Henry Isaac; and two
sisters, Katheryn Classen and Margaret Friesen.
Funeral service will be 1:30
p.m. Wednesday at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade with the Rev. Ken
Harder officiating.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
Interment will be in the
Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Meade.
Memorials have been
established with the Radio Bible Class, the Emmanuel Mennonite Board of
Trustees and Harry Hines Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.
