Barbara M. Hengel
Barbara M. Hengel, 71, of
Newton died Thursday (May 25, 2006) at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita.
She was born Jan. 13, 1935,
in Cushing, Okla., to Aurthur and Mable (Denning) Pennington. On Dec. 10, 1955,
she married Ludwell "Dean" Bolton in Miami, Okla. They later were
divorced. She then married Marlyn Hengle in 1991 in Wichita. He survives.
She was a member of Our Lady
of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton and was the former owner of the Dee's
Thimble Shop in Newton.
She loved to relax with
various craft projects and enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband,
survivors include daughters Deena Fisher of Newton and Teena Castleman of
Kansas City, Mo.; son, Robert Gene Bolton of Belle Plaine; grandsons Anthony
Fisher, Nicholas Fisher, Travis Frank and Richard Bolton; and granddaughter,
Sarah Castleman.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and two brothers, Bill Pennington and Tony Pennington.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday in Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Floyd McKinney with Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton will officiate.
Memorials have been
established with Victim Offender Ministries in care of Petersen Funeral Home in
Newton.
