Eustacio Chavez
Eustacio Chavez, 82, died
Saturday (March 27, 2006) at Newton Medical Center.
He was born March 29, 1924,
to Justiniano and Ana Coreta (Villalobos) Chavez in Mexico. They preceded him
in death. He married Petronila Quintana Feb. 2, 1951, in Mexico. She preceded
him in death Jan. 2, 1999.
He was a member of Our Lady
of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. He started as a farmer and later worked
for Richey Pavement and then Hehr International until retirement. He was a hard
worker, wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed working
in the yard and was always busy.
Survivors include: sons,
Margarito Chavez, Prudencio Chavez, Manuel Chavez, Ignacio Chavez, Ramon Chavez
and Eusebio Chavez, all of Newton, and Luis E. Chavez of Durango; daughters,
Maria de Jesus Chavez of Wichita, Maria Guadalupe Cruz of Newton, Nestora
Chavez Arzavala of Santa Fe, N.M., and Cecilia Chavez Ciseneros of Espanola,
N.M.; brothers, Ignacio Chavez, Justiniano Chavez, Eduardo Chavez, Manuel
Chavez and Carmelo Chavez; 38 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death
by: sons, Miguel Chavez, Beto Chavez and Gregorio Chavez; daughters, Berta
Chavez and Blanca Estella Chavez; and brothers, Marcelino Chavez and Miguel
Chavez.
Visitation will be from 5 to
9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Recitation of the rosary will
be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Funeral service will be 10
a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Floyd E.
McKinney officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's
Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials have been
established with Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in care of the funeral
home.
