Carmen R. Gonzalez Sr.
Carmen R. Gonzalez Sr.,
"Daddio," died Thursday (June 1, 2006) peacefully at home with his
family by his side. He was born July 16, 1920, to the late Jose and Ylaria
Rincon-Gonzalez. He attended Newton Schools, after which he served in the Army
from 1942 to 1945, battling in World War II for his country with all his
brothers. He and all his brothers came home alive and well. Gonzalez then met
and married his wife, Norma B. Maldanoado. She preceded him in death. After raising
his children Gonzalez retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in 1980. He loved
nothing more than spending time with his family. He was an avid fisherman and
was famous for his "Daddio's hot sauce." He was a good, stern, kind,
caring and loving human being and will be missed by any person who had the
honor of meeting him.

Carmen Ceilia (Sally) Noland of Houston, daughter Yolanda A. Gintz of Wooldan
Park, Colo., son Jose R. Gonzalez of Newton, son Carmen C. Gonzalez Jr. of
Houston, daughter Norma I. Gonzalez of Newton, daughter Laura M. Cantu of Coral
Springs, Fla., daughter Debra Gonzalez of Newton, daughter Natalie C. Herrera
of Houston, son Maurice M. Montano of Newton, brother Soccoro Gonzalez of
Newton, brother Daniel Gonzalez of Newton, brother Raymond Gonzalez of Newton,
brother Renaldo Gonzalez of Newton, brother Juan Gonzalez of Newton, sister
Angelina Chapa of Dallas, sister Anita Domme of Newton, sister Josephina
Victoria of Newton, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one
great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents
and wife, he was preceded in death by son Bermina Gonzlaez, brother Dorteo Gonzalez,
brother Antonio Gonzalez, sister Loretta Moreno and grandson Viviano Cantu.
Funeral service will be at 2
p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 1
to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Peterson Funeral Home. Recitation
of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic
Church.
