Hazel A. Black
Hazel A. Black, 92, died
Friday (June 2, 2006) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was born Jan. 25,
1914, to Selburn L. and Nona (Jocker) Sneed in Carrollton, Ark. They preceded
her in death. She married Gerald D. Black Dec. 2, 1935, in Hutchinson. Hazel
and Gerald celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at the villa with many friends
in attendance. He preceded her in death Jan. 28, 2006. While growing up around
Kechi, she learned to enjoy cooking, reading, flowers and dancing.
Survivors include: a son and
daughter-in-law, Ronald and Linda Black of Valley center; a sister-in-law,
Dorothy Halfmann of Wichita; and a niece, Janet Hibbs of Wichita.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at
Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2:30
p.m. Wednesday at Schowalter Villa Chapel with Chaplain Bev Baumgartner
officiating.
Burial will be in Kechi
Cemetery.
Memorials have been
established with Schowalter Villa in care of the funeral home.
